The Founding Forty

Forty Leaders. One Legacy. By Invitation Only.

The Founding Forty form the inaugural National Council of the Britannia Business Association — forty business owners and leaders appointed for their integrity, responsibility, merit, and commitment to strengthening Britain’s commercial culture.

This is a one‑time, never‑again appointment. Once all forty seats are filled, the cohort closes permanently.

These individuals are not early Members. They are the architects of the institution.

A Balanced National Foundation

The Forty are appointed across the Association’s eight regions, with five leaders in each, ensuring a balanced and representative national foundation.

The Role of a Founding Member

Founding Members do not simply join the Association — they anchor its direction.

Their role is one of stewardship, not operational workload. Each Founder:

• helps shape the Britannia Standard
• contributes to national ethical and professional frameworks
• sets the tone and expectations of the institution
• represents their region and sector at the highest level
• participates in the long‑term governance of the Association
• holds a permanent seat on the National Council

This is not a working committee. It is a constitutional partnership.

The Values Behind Founding Membership

Every Founding Member commits to the Association’s six core values:

• Hard Work & Personal Responsibility

These are not symbolic slogans. They are the operating framework for how the Association is led and how its Members are expected to conduct themselves.

A Private Appointment With Selective Nomination

Founding Membership is not open for public application.

Most seats are filled by direct invitation. However, a selective nomination pathway exists for distinguished leaders whose enterprises embody principled British business.

If this reflects you, you may register your interest for formal consideration.

The National Formation Phase

The Association is currently in its National Formation Phase — the period in which:

• the governance structure is finalised
• the national standards are codified
• the Register is established
• the institutional culture is set
• the long‑term architecture is built

The Founding Forty are the leaders who shape this phase. Their decisions now will influence the Association for generations.

The Appointment Meeting

Each prospective Founder participates in a short in‑person meeting to confirm:

• values alignment
• clarity of expectations
• suitability for a seat on the National Council
• mutual understanding of the Association’s mission

Founding Membership is a partnership. The meeting ensures it is the right fit for both sides.

The Founders Dinner

The inaugural cohort will be formally commissioned at the Founders Dinner — the ceremonial moment where:

• the Forty are recognised
• the Britannia Standard is affirmed
• the National Register is opened
• the institution is formally established

This is the point at which the Founding Forty are formally commissioned into their lifetime role.

The Legacy

Founding Members will:

• appear permanently at the top of the National Register
• be recognised as the original architects of the institution
• hold lifetime precedence within the Association
• shape the long‑term direction of the BBA
• leave a legacy that endures beyond their own enterprises

This is a moment in time that cannot be repeated.

Privacy and Discretion

Founder identities are never published without explicit consent. Some leaders will choose public recognition on the National Register. Others will remain entirely private. Both decisions are respected.

During the appointment phase, no running numbers or candidate names are published.
