TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP

1. Introduction

These Terms of Membership (“Terms”) set out the rights, responsibilities, and expectations of all members of the Britannia Business Association (“the Association”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

By applying for or renewing membership, you agree to be bound by:

  • these Terms

  • the Association’s Values

  • the Membership Code of Conduct

  • any policies referenced within these Terms

If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not apply for membership.

 

2. Membership Eligibility

Membership is open to individuals and organisations that:

  • operate a business or hold a leadership role within a business

  • support the Association’s values

  • meet the criteria for the relevant membership tier

  • are approved through the application process

We reserve the right to decline applications that do not align with the Association’s mission, values, or standards.

 

3. Membership Categories & Fees

The Association offers several membership categories, each with its own benefits and pricing.

Current membership tiers can be found on the Membership Page.

3.1 Fees

  • Membership fees are payable annually unless otherwise stated.

  • Fees are non‑refundable except where required by law.

  • Founding Member contributions are one‑time payments and non‑refundable.

3.2 Changes to Fees

We may review and update membership fees periodically. Members will be notified in advance of any changes.

 

4. Term & Renewal

4.1 Term

Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of acceptance, unless stated otherwise (e.g., launch‑year offers).

4.2 Renewal

Members will be invited to renew prior to expiry. Failure to renew will result in membership lapsing automatically.

 

5. Member Responsibilities

All members agree to:

  • uphold the Association’s values

  • act with integrity, professionalism, and respect

  • comply with the Membership Code of Conduct

  • represent the Association positively

  • maintain accurate contact information

  • pay membership fees on time

Members must not:

  • misuse the Association’s name, brand, or materials

  • engage in behaviour that harms the reputation of the Association

  • use membership for unlawful or unethical purposes

 

6. Association Responsibilities

We will:

  • provide the benefits associated with each membership tier

  • maintain a safe, respectful, and values‑driven environment

  • communicate important updates to members

  • manage personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy

  • operate the Association in line with its mission and values

 

7. Events & Programmes

Members may be invited to attend events, programmes, and activities organised by the Association.

We reserve the right to:

  • set eligibility criteria

  • limit attendance

  • charge additional fees where applicable

  • modify or cancel events when necessary

 

8. Use of Branding & Materials

Members may not use the Association’s:

  • name

  • crest

  • logo

  • branding

  • materials

…without prior written permission, except where explicitly provided (e.g., Founding Member recognition).

 

9. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate membership if a member:

  • breaches these Terms

  • breaches the Code of Conduct

  • acts in a way that harms the Association or its reputation

  • fails to pay membership fees

  • provides false or misleading information

Members may also voluntarily resign at any time by contacting us.

Termination does not entitle the member to a refund.

 

10. Changes to Membership Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Members will be notified of significant changes.

Continued membership after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

 

11. Liability

The Association is not liable for:

  • business decisions made by members

  • actions taken by other members

  • loss of income, profit, or business opportunities

  • indirect or consequential losses

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where prohibited by law.

 

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
